Ganesha
This large and heavy statue represents Ganesha and most probably Durga. An equally common variation of similar carvings shows Ganesha and the demon Nila Rudraka. The exact meaning here is yet to be verified.
The massive design and richness of detail give the statue an extraordinary presence within the collection, and the heavy weight of almost 7 kg contributes to this.
Except for the missing part of the outermost tip of Ganesha's crown, the statue is in very good condition. The year of manufacture is unknown, probably 1970s or earlier.
