Sutasoma and Naga

The story tells of Sutasoma, a pious prince who was attacked by a naga, a giant snake, on his way. He persuaded it to desist from the attack and, convinced by Sutasoma's spiritual teachings, the naga became his disciple from then on.

This item maybe is the oldest one in my collection since it's from the 1930s. This figurine was made of light and bright wood, covered with a very nice colored patina. I like the typical look of that decade and the nice Art Deco style.
